A study on ammonia emissions from mechanically-ventilated weaned pig house

چکیده

Ammonia is an odorous substance, and it also forms secondary particle matter by causing chemical reactions with sulfur oxides nitrogen in the atmosphere. In this study, to evaluate ammonia emission from weaned pigs, concentration ventilation rate were measured mechanicaly-ventilated pig house. The measurement was conducted for about 45 days using INNOVA, a real-time measuring device based on photoacoustic spectroscopy. As result, average house 3 ppm 55 m3/h/pig. Finally, pigs mechanically-ventilated 1.6 g/day/pig. However, since emissions can vary seasonal characteristics, considered that long-term study of characteristics season needed evaluate.

Odour and ammonia emissions from intensive pig units in Ireland.

Odour and ammonia emissions were measured at four intensive pig units in Ireland. Odour samples were collected on-site and analysed for odour concentration using an olfactometer. Ammonia concentrations in the exhaust ventilation air were measured using a portable sensor. The geomean odour emission rates over the four pig units were 17.2, 44.4, 4.3, 9.9 and 16.8 ou(E) s(-1) animal(-1) for dry so...

Effect of training on inspiratory load compensation in weaned and unweaned mechanically ventilated ICU patients.

BACKGROUND While inspiratory muscle weakness is common in prolonged mechanical ventilation, inspiratory muscle strength training (IMST) can facilitate strengthening and ventilator weaning. However, the inspiratory load compensation (ILC) responses to threshold loads are not well characterized in patients. We retrospectively compared ILC responses according to the clinical outcomes of IMST (ie, ...

Ammonia emissions from a U.S. broiler house--comparison of concurrent measurements using three different technologies.

There is a need for robust and accurate techniques for the measurement of ammonia (NH3) and other atmospheric pollutant emissions from poultry production facilities. Reasonable estimates of NH3 emission rate (ER) from poultry facilities are needed to guide discussions about the industry's impact on local and regional air quality. The design of these facilities features numerous emission points ...
